Favorite one-liner: "I don't want to die in my underwear!" ;D

Skirmishing! Golly I love that word. But man-o-man does it describe their banter perfectly.

I too really liked the stakeout scene - David with the branch in his hat and Maddie chewing gum and carrying the magazine with her picture on it and the bit about Maddie's opera glasses. Too funny!

I always liked Maddie's hair when it was down and more natural. OK, she isn't a dog with her mop all tied up, but somehow her All-American good looks (no offense to our International Audience) goes better with the hair about her shoulders. I just prefer that to the piled up hair seen in the casino scene, in this restaurant scene, in Atomic Shakespear, etc. (Is there an E on the end of Shakespear???) Yeah, you're right about the hair about the shoulders/piled up hair issue. She looks much more European in Money Talks..., in the dinner scene with Preston Holt, even in Atlas Belched (remember that dinner scene with...what's his name...Lew LaSalle)... Almost a French look, might I add. (ladies are not as classy as Maddie here in Italy...Not nowadays, anyway!) P.S. Yep, there's an E on the end of Shakespeare!

3. Physical assaults on David... I remember as kids when a boy likes you, he usually hit you because he didn't understand his feelings towards you (viewed as a girl but this is vice versa)... Great observation, sinceifell4u! A boyfriend-wannabe once bit my arm in the 2th grade... Amazing but true, I know... Not the boyfriend-wannabe part, of course! LOL!

Can I throw a completely inane inquiry out there? I just wondered if anybody knew whether the immortal catchphrase "Whatever blows your skirt up" was born in this episode...if so, the writers are even better than I thought! I am (slightly) embarrassed to admit that I spent the better part of an hour online today trying to find an answer to this burning question...See how much I've learned from David?

Another note on Maddie revealing her personal thought---
Given what we know now about Maddie, did any of you notice how excited she was to go see Omar, the Psychic?
Looking at this now it seems to reveal a little more about her feelings about death and life after, don't you think?

Don't be embarrassed, jpen. This is what we "essed" people do! I'm not sure about the phrase. I don't recall hearing it anywhere else.

Isn't that a reference to Marilyn Monroe? Not sure!

Skirts...preferably pleated....on cheerleaders....
Sorry, I digress. I hit a couple of sites and came up empty. Some folks refer to the famous Marilyn Monroe scene on the subway grate, but nothing concrete.

Pearls of wisdom, jpen! LOL! Yes, the "whatever blows your skirt up" catchphrase is born in this episode, and I'm pretty sure it was not used again in any other ep.

Found this:
WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT phrase (also whatever blows your skirt up) [1980s and still in use] (U.S.): A general phrase of acquiescence; whatever you like; whatever make you happy. (Cassell’s Dictionary of Slang)
