Good answer Witness - but myfairdavid, I agree that 'the did he ever know?' dilemma is frustrating. I feel like there must be a helluva lot of deleted scenes out there that may shed some light on this as, you're right, in 'YUK' - he certainly acts as if he knew he was the father- or maybe we misinterpret his feelings for this loss of his own baby with his intense feelings for Maddie's loss- as he loved her so much.
Then that gets me thinking about the scene in Womb - at the end- when she says 'We'll never be the same' - that also indicates that maybe they found out then?
Sad thoughts though huh?

Yeah, I am frustrated. I know it is what it is and I can't change it, but it is really frustrating not to know for sure. I'm thinking there are a lot of deleted scenes as well. Maybe Maddie went and got a paternity test and found out David was the father and told him. I don't know. I guess what I would like closure on that I don't think I can get, is whether or not David knew it was his baby. WE know, but...oh, so much I wanted him to know. And maybe he did - in Yuk everyone in the office is talking about the loss of David and Maddie's baby. I mean, David was out of the office for what? Two weeks? On some case. I think avoiding Maddie and work. And when Agnes came to give him his tickets, he had been looking at those parenting books and you could tell he was very sad. Then the elevator scene... Every time I watch this epi, I have different thoughts of what the situation could've been (and how I wanted it to be! LOL).
