I was watching Murphy Brown, episode 10 of the first season, entitled 'Kyle.' It's about a man named Kyle Whitsett, accused of a crime he didn't commit, who gets out of jail and gets a job at the station as Murphy's secretary. He is pretty much incompetent and drives everybody nuts. They don't have the heart to fire him. He finds Murphy in local bar Phil's. He and Brown are talking when a man (played by William Frankfather) walks up to them. Man: I know you! You're Murphy Brown. I've seen you on TV. What's that show you're on? Murphy: FYI. Man: No, ' Moonlighting'! You're always nagging that guy with the funny hair. Murphy: We'd like to be alone, if you don't mind. Man: Boy, pretty uppity for a co-star. Kyle: Oh, now, you just wait a minute there, big mister. Murphy: Kyle, I can take care of this. Kyle: Murphy took a chance on me when the whole world was looking down their noses at me. Murphy: Kyle. Kyle: She taught me to believe in myself! And for the first time in my life, I do. Sure, you hear a lot of bad stuff about her. She's bossy, she's irritable, she's a drunkard, she can't get a date to save her life. Murphy: Kyle! Kyle: But because of this woman, I've been given a second chance. A new start. I owe this woman my life, my future. Murphy Brown's a saint, I tell you. A saint. Man: Gee, I had no idea. I'm real sorry. I feel like a weenie. (Leaves) Kyle: Boy, what a fathead. So, boss, what's up?

I can't believe I never caught this......Murphy Brown is my favorite series after Moonlighting. I wish they would move on with those DVDs. They issued the first season and then stalled.
My favorite actually is the total ML take off from Riptide called "If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em", which they did as a total parody after ML killed them in the ratings, causing their cancellation. This was the next to the last episode of the series. Check it out if you have the chance.
