Who can help answer this fan email?

I received an email at the site yesterday that asked this... and what is being referred to just does not ring any bells with me. You guys are all so good with the quote trivia, I thought maybe you could help out. Here is what was asked:

Hoping you can help me. I'm looking for the episode, and ideally the clip from Moonlighting in which David walks in to Maddie talking with a friend and he asks "what's the topic?" and Maddie says something like "the same old subject no one will ever understand" and david replies "Logarithms?"

I'm trying to find that clip and I thought you might know!

My first guess is "Read The Mind..." where Maddie talks about a friend named Vivian Baker?
...I never got logarithms either!! ;D

Hi guys,

Pretty busy at work at the moment so haven't got around to posting much but read all yours with interest!

Anyway, I think I can help with the answer. I believe the answer to the episode is "In God We Strongly Suspect". D & M are at the morgue and talking to one of the workers re: Mrs Kandinsky and he says something like "You know what I can't understand?" and David answers "Logarithms." Then at a hard glance from Maddie he says "What you understood those?"

They go onto listen to the morgue worker who says something about Dr Nealy knowing who Mrs K was and that she shouldn't have been a Jane Doe.

I am quoting this from memory so may not be 100% on the actual lines. Hope this helps. It was the mention of logarithms that did it for me - I don't understand them much either- and they're not something that you would commonly expect to be mentioned in a show like Moonlighting!

Hey kids, sorry, I haven't checked in lately. I agree with funky. The only mention of logarithms is in In God. The rest of the dialogue is not part of that episode, and I don't remember David ever walking in on Maddie with a friend. I don't think the dialgue as described ever happened, at least I don't recall it. Could this question be from someone listening in a foreign language and maybe the translation is a little off?

Hi everyone, I agree with funky and lin, it's IGWSS, I just watched it and it rang a bell cause I hate logarithms and I just helped my son with his Math homework.
BTW, I'm sorry if I'm on the wrong thread, as I'm new at this.
Anyway Bruce is going to be on Dave Letterman Monday night,
