I re-opened the wound of the season finale this week, and was happy to find this website. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who still gets teary over how the series ended. I've read articles from 2009, that both stars were willing to do a renunion film. Has there been any word on this possibility? This was the 1st "grown-up" show I got into, and was devestated at its cancellation and nature of its ending. A film would provide some serious closure.

Glad you found us Nate! This site definitely helps soothe the wound!
As for a movie...don't think it will ever happen. In the meantime, enjoy the many anecdotes you will find here!

Hi. I am new to the site too. I absolutely love it although I'm still acclimating myself to its many categories. As for a movie, I am sad to say and sorry to report, there will likely be none of the sort. Caron can't figure out how to do it (per Cybill's commentary on Season 3 DVD) for one thing and I think it's time has passed for another. It is hard to envision David at 60 bickering and bantering with Maddie who I guess would be 62. Maybe I'm wrong -- stranger things have happened. It is disheartening and haunting to revisit how badly the series was brought to an end. We fans deserved better.

Ugh. That is bad news. After reliving the gut-punch of the finale, a possible movie was the bright spot. Thank you to all for the replies! As I said before, it is comforting to know I'm not the only one still a fan of this show. Funny, here I am 20 years later, with a family and all sorts of wonderful things, yet that ending can still bring me down! I want to print off a couple of the Virtual Moonlighting scripts and hand them to Caron and say "look what you can still do with these characters! Make it happen!"

Quoting Maddie...."Now this is the kind of talk I like."
I am so amazed and absolutely thrilled that, after all this time, there are still wonderful new people who find us almost every day. Welcome nate, and Moonlight...we're so glad to have you.
I'm thinking the ship has sailed for any kind of a movie as well, but on behalf of the VM sstaff...thanks so much for your kind words....and if you could possibly sneak a couple episodes to GGC.........well...what the hey!!!
Once again, welcome aboard! Your turn to hold the limbo stick!

Thank you to all replying to this! I fear I may have triggered a midlife crisis at 36 by rewatching Lunar Eclipse! I bought The Bridge on CD today(had it on cassette tape a million years ago) because of Big Man on Mullberry St. I forgot how much this finale cut to the bone. My dad was military and we lived in Hawaii for 3 years while Moonlighting aired. We moved to Virginia in 1989 a few months before the Finale, and Moonlighting was the constant despite this change. When it ended, the way it did, it carried the sadness of the move further. Now I live near New Orleans and, 20 years later, it feels like I've torn open this wound from a long time ago. It's so great to watch some of these early episodes, however, and Virtual Moonlighting is providing a wonderful salve to Lunar Eclipse! Thanks again to the writers who spend their time and resources to this continuation of such a beloved story!

Wow, nate, thou speaketh my language: "1st grown-up show (for me too!)" and "gut-punch" (every time David is hurt emotionally by Maddie, he gets this look: I call it a gut-punch moment, like he's been socked in the gut)
Welcome!

Welcome, missingmymoonlight and nate--thanks for sharing some of your personal ML story. If you're feeling down about Lunar Eclipse...you're not alone...but that's what's so great about this place: we can share our collective wonder (and our collective pain) at what this terrific show has brought into our lives! So glad you're enjoying VM, too, Nate--it's been so fun keeping Maddie and David's adventures going. Looking forward to lots more posts from both of you! Best, Jen

Apologies to members as I screwed up in two threads -- especially embarrassed about jumping in on the "favorite quotes" thread without first reading the rules. The truth is, as I wrote when I joined not long ago, this is the first Board in which I've ever participated. I was too gung-ho, I guess. Anyway, after realizing I had screwed up, I was so mortified I avoided the site for a month. I have returned because I believe anywhere David and Maddie fans gather can only be a good thing. Also, I am fascinated by and drawn to the comments and analyses. It is stunning (and intimidating -- I want to have something to OFFER!) how incisive and thoughtful many of the postings are. All of this to say I mean well by the Board and I will try to be more careful. Please be patient with me.
P.S. -- I started to begin a new thread in MEMBER TALK under the heading "apologies" but wasn't sure whether doing so was correct. Hope I didn't mess up again.

If you've got any questions at all, please feel free to post them on the boards.....or use the PM feature anytime. Welcome back! Glad to see ya again!
