Do you think there's a chance they'd make a Blu-ray/boxed set? Moonlighting definitely deserves a nicely packaged special edition version. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The DVD features for the current ones are terrific especially the commentary but for the boxed set, I wish they'd:
1. Do more commentary, and this time with Bruce and Cybill together. This alone would be priceless. ;D
2. Include a booklet with the publicity photos, critic reviews when Moonlighting premiered, awards that the show and the actors received, and the show's legacy.
3. Longer video interviews with Bruce, Cybill and Glenn.
4. Maybe include clips from the award shows when Cybill, Bruce and Glenn(?) won awards for Moonlighting.
What do you think? If they did a Blu-ray/boxed set/Anniversary edition, what would you like to be included in it?
ETA:
5. They also need to include cut/deleted scenes.
6. And whatever more they can jam in there. lol

I have my doubts that this will happen but I would LOVE it! I would def. buy it. All the seasons on blu-ray in a nice big box would be a great Christmas gift. Like you mentioned, clips of the award shows and old interviews would be great to have. Let's see....more bloopers. There have to be more out there. I would enjoy seeing more featurettes like the ones on Season1,2 dvd's(ML phenomenon, The Story of ML).

Does the original film still exist? It would be awesome to see a remastered version from the original! That would be worth the blurays for me. A digitally enhanced version would be okay, but a remastered version would be a dream come true! I'd pitch in to a kickstarter for that!

Welcome to the boards Dub! Always good to see a new member. This is a fab site, full of friendly, talented and most of all, Moonlighting-obsessed people! Have fun reading all the threads and please post on any or all of them. It's good to get the male perspective on things too! We need to get some more folks back on here! I'm totally with you on the wish for a Blu-ray release. I wouldn't hold your breath though!

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, I'm sure it's just a dream. But I'm very thankful we got the beautiful DVD sets! I watched this show with my parents when I was a kid. Some of my friends wanted to be like He-Man. Others wanted to be like Michael Jordan. I wanted to be David Addison! This was a cool mystery show with a beautiful, smart blonde and the coolest detective ever! And the best theme song ever. I always felt like I was too young to watch this show, which made it even more awesome to me! I was delighted a couple of years ago to discover the DVDs and experience this incredible show all over again, and then introduce the show to my wife. Speaking of my wife, we don't have kids yet but just tonight she was asking my opinion on baby names. Of course -- what names popped in my head? Maddie and Addison. Anyway, I still wish I was cool like David, but it's too late for a personality transformation I'm afraid! Still can't get over how ahead of its time this show was and how well it holds up. Cybil and Bruce were such a great pair on screen. I could go on, but I'm sure these are things that have been said again and again. Anyway, thanks again for the kind welcome!

Welcome Dub! Always glad to greet a fellow 'essed person!
I think blue rays are probably a pipe dream.....not sure the original DVD issue was lucrative enough to consider it.
And even though you think things might have been said over and over again.....we always seem to come up with a new twist or two.
so jump right into the pool.......and don't forget your "medicate me" t-shirt.

So do I dub, so do I. There are all sorts of shows and movies out on blu-ray now so who knows. It could happen(fingers crossed). I hope it comes in one big box set though, not in individual seasons, but I would buy them either way.

The years roll on, and I'm still a fan of the show. The last time I was on here, I didn't have kids. I have 2 girls now. Our first kid's name is Kara Madelyn - yes, the middle name came from our favorite female lead! I'm surprised this show isn't streaming on Netflix or Amazon. Anybody know why? Seems like it would be the perfect show to binge. By the way...where's the kickstarter for the blurays? :-) Still a worthy dream!

All I'm saying is if we each take an episode to run through this AI uprez software, we can have Moonlighting in 4K in about a week! Teamwork!? :-) topazlabs.com/video-enhance-ai/

I cannot even meaningfully comment as I have no idea of the tech involved. Is it legal, BTW?
I am currently waiting (6 weeks already) to get a set from people who specialise in 'producing on demand' shows that are 'out of print'. I watch the show on Utube, yes, all those truncated miserable copies. Some episodes are available in several copies often none is satisfactory, most have the opening scenes missing and some have scenes missing in the middle. The pain of it.
Best of luck to you, I hope you will be able to complete a team for it.

I'm somewhat joking. I own a legal copy of the DVDs, so if I uprez it I'm doing it for myself for just that reason, unfortuantely. If I go for it, I will at least upload a clip. The problem is it takes FOREVER to pass through the software. But I've seen some great results from people who have used the software.

Come to think of it, I do have more faith in neural networks than in whoever owns ML going to the trouble of digitally restoring it for a BD release. The technology will certainly be in an interesting place in a few years, and so will the processing capacity of an average computer without a multi-thousand GPU... But the thing is, ML will actively resist AI-based enhancing because of all the diffusion of Maddie's close-ups, which would be very confusing to any AI models. You'd have to spend days or weeks training them on films that used that technique to get anything resembling an actual increase in picture quality.
