"Mom and Dad's science project"Very sad news. The actor who portrayed David's brother Richard Addison and was a cast member of "Saturday Night Live" among many other roles in his television and film career, passed away October 7, 2005, apparently by his own hand. He was 56 and is survived by his wife and son. "I like my brother as a brother..."Rest in peace.

I've just been reading about Charlie Rocket and am completely stunned. Really sad news, my thoughts are with his wife and family.

I am so shocked. WHY would he do this? I just saw him in a "Long Gunmen" episode of "The X-Files." He looked pretty good. I was thinking about him after seeing that episode, wondering what he was doing, what other projects he was working on. Little did I know that he was already dead. (I watched this episode after Oct. 7th.)
This is so depressing and sad. He was a very funny actor, but could handle dramatic roles too.

Oh My God!!! This is such shocking sad news! I've been out of town, and hadn't heard the news until I just popped on this site for a second. I checked Variety, and it didn't say anything else other than his work history. Don't want to speculate on a forum...but...I'm so sad. Makes my love for "Brother Can You Spare a Blonde" all the more precious to me. I love Richie, and other characters he's played as well. To his family - may you find comfort. All of his fans are mourning his loss. Charlie...RIP

I was telling one of my friends about his death (she hadn't heard and was shocked) and she said she met him once at an airshow, more than 10 years ago. She said he was a very nice guy—she had a nice little chat with him. He was with his kid.
This really is sad. SAD. I hate this, because from now on, whenever I see him in anything, I'll not be able to avoid thinking about how his life ended. My heart breaks for his family.

Some more information about the incident. One is a tribute and the other two are news articles. Caution, the latter two are graphic. A Providence, Rhode Island bulletin's article on Rocket's student days on the arts scene and his early career. An Associated Press article. A posting on the CNN site, with most of the same content as the AP story.

The first I even heard of it, was on SNL. So I looked him up on the internet, and I was shocked to learn he killed himself. I just wish I could know why? Why would a man with a wife and children do something like that? Drugs? History of depression? It just really saddens me. I loved "Richard".

This is so depressing. When you look at his IMDb profile, you can see that he did a lot of work. It wasn't as if he had anything to be ashamed of, career-wise.
::sigh::
