Hello - New member here. I used the search function and couldn't locate this:
It's a quote where he says something similar to, "Ah, yeah, the weekend..." and then he goes on and describes how you go out and get drunk and come back to work, etc. and then confirms it all by saying, "the weekend" once more.
I really don't recall the content of the quote, so please excuse my ignorance. ;D

Hi Rexskidmore. Welcome to the boards. I remember the quote you are referring to - I think Maddie goes on to say that he can do everything he used to do at 20 except recover. If that is the case then I think the quote is from Big Man on Mulberry Street but I am happy to stand corrected.

If it's not Big Man.... i think it may be Witness For The Execution where he talks about hitting it a little hard and going to Vegas etc, etc, etc

Actually Rose as I read your post I changed my mind - I think it is from Witness too!

I agree it is definitely Witness - when David is VERY hungover but he accurately sums up the weekend with reference to crouching over a toilet bowl...or something...?! ;D

All I keep coming back to is a quote which I think is from the Bride of Tupperman about Fridays being "the day you get paid and the night you get what rhymes with paid". I can't think clearly about the quote you are talking about now, my mind is muddled!!
I blame the hot weather here in the UK... It's about 90 degrees here at the moment and we aren't used to this!!! Mul

I'm thinking about "the days between work and more work, two days of *something starting with d" delight"." Hmm. That's all I had! And welcome to the board!

Definitely Witness. Saturday and Sunday - the days between work and more work. I believe the "delight" refers to one of the Roman or Greek gods - one that starts with "d". The next line refers to the god Bacchus (sp?) "bacchanalian binges".

From Witness for the Execution:
Maddie: You should be ashamed of yourself.
David: For what? Having a weekend?
Maddie: A weekend?
David: A weekend. You remember weekends, don't ya? Saturday and Sunday? The time between work and more work? Two days of Dionysian delights...of Bacchanalian binges? The time you go looking for happiness and end up hunched over someone's toilet? The weekend?
