OK, so I had a ML moment today at work I'd like to share! ;D Here goes. I work as a Kindergarten teacher aide, and today the book they read was "Green Eggs & Ham". As soon as I heard that I chuckled because it totally reminded me of that door greeter in the dark glasses in "The Murder's In the Mail" episode. ;D While they were reading it, I went off into my own little trance - "I'm sorry to say, I'm sad to report, that I haven't seen anyone of that sort..." LOL That guy cracks me up! ;D ML is always on my mind, obviously. Just a hopeless, gushing fan girl I guess. I love D&M!!! SQUEE!!!

Lol - I'm currently trying to find youtube clips to show different kinds of relationships to my Year 10's (15 yr olds) in order to kick off a poetry unit on, funnily enough, 'relationships'. Do you think I should slip one in of a Maddie and David argument to illustrate complicated relationships? He he. It's soooo tempting! :-)

And the answer is...OF COURSE! Any (reasonable) excuse to create a new generation of fans... ;D

It's soooo tempting! :-) It's too bad there's also talk about 'nudes' in that opening argument during "Somewhere Under the Rainbow." "For your information, I happen to be dripping with poetry." You'd kill two birds with one stone--a discussion that once again reveals their differences, and it happens to revolve around art and poetry. "e baby, use caps!"

Well, after 3 consecutive failed attempts to post on the "I Am Curious . . . Maddie" Rewatching thread, the episode has remained on my brain all evening, evidenced by my ML interjection at dinner. My uncle had used this, his version of the popular saying in reference to...I can't remember: "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make 'im jump." My reply was "Orrrr . . . but that doesn't make 'im a duck." Deafening silence, only interrupted by my cousin's "Good one" followed by my response, "Not even mine."

I have to jump in here and add to this 'duck' talk. Yesterday my son got a behavior note sent home (nothing new). The teacher's note said "Wyatt walked like a duck all day yesterday when I asked him not to."
During my 'lecture' to him I told him to remember what David said about leading a horse to water. Also according to Maddie (loosely interpreted): there's a time and place for the right kind of duck-fun at the right duck-time.
Anyway, I guess leading a horse/kid to water/school CAN make him a duck, David.

Witness, 1987, I love both of your stories, girls! So funny! I think David Addison would be proud of you both: so nice to know his witty saying found its audience

I'm always using this quote and when I do I always hear Ms.DiPesto's voice affectionately quoting Mr. Addison.

You guys are psychic...I got a thank you present at work today....a bucket of candy (which I can't eat), topped by the sweetest little duck. I named him David, and he is on the shelf with my bunnies that are minor stars in Virtual 8!

Realizing in the same day that the model name of my Coach bag is "Willis", and the pattern name of my Reed and Barton flatware is "Addison".
I truly had no idea, but I think it's poetic!

Funny story that you will enjoy: So, most of you know that I have a little brother (age 32) with leukemia and he is in need of a bone marrow transplant. I am his perfect match and as I type this we are heading to Houston, TX to MD Anderson to have this procedure done next Monday. During this ordeal we have kept laughing and joking which is wonderful therapy. I tease him that he will have a yearning for mojitos, sun dried tomatoes and will be quoting Moonlighting all the time after receiving my marrow. (He already knows "Man with a mole on his nose".) In other words, he will never be able to escape me. I have been dubbed by my family as The Queen Marrow. So, on his last night in Atlanta before he moves to Houston for 4 months he and his wife go to dinner at a nice restaurant. He has to go early so he's not around a lot of people. There was only one other table being served at this restaurant: 4 "older" couples. According to my brother they are in their early 60s (forgive him). Jay says as soon as they sit down he hears one of the men at the table say to the others at his table: "Do you remember when Maddie Hayes took that long vacation away from David and left him all messed up?". Jay said that question led to an entire dinner conversation about Moonlighting....how wonderful it was, the plot turns, twists, the music, etc. And these "older people" were apparently passionate and emotional about it. Jay and his wife thought it was hilarious. He said if you had never watched the show this table of people had just told everything that ever happened. And he and his wife just shook their heads and realized again that they never really can escape me Just thought you would like to hear a random, wonderful little story.

Oh my goodness if we could have all been privy to THAT conversation. The chatter would have gone on for days. I don't suppose your bro and SIL said anything to this party? Anyway, thanks for sharing . . . made my day.
