Not sure on which thread I read this but saw recently that Anita O'Day was the person who originated the song Told Ya I Loved Ya (Now Get Out). Anyhow, just catching up on news and saw that Ms O'Day had passed away at the age of 76. She was a jazz singer but in the list of her better known songs the above mentioned one wasn't even included!
I just love that song, it's sooo beutiful. And the way Maddie sang it. Fantastic! I'm so sorry cause of O'Day, that song is just beautiful (I'm not in the mood for writing so I repeat words such as "beautiful")
Turbo Grom - I know you posted this question some time ago, but here are the lyrics:
I told ya I love ya now get out I told ya I love ya now get out Everything's rosy, everything's jake But just how much can a good gal take? Told ya I love ya now get out.
There may be times when I need ya there's no doubt Baby, now you're something I can do without Leave your number and go on home But don't wait with sandwiches by the phone Told ya I love ya now get out.
Baby, please leave me be You want a puppet and there's no strings on me Get hip, you can leave on the 5:18 Now don't go away saying I've been mean Like any guy I can change my ways Round trip ticket's good for 60 days Told ya I love ya now get out. Man, get lost...for now.
