Hmmm? This one always has always kept me on the fence. I dolike it , there are some really funny scenes, like when Maddie breaks into Davids office and i sorta like Davids impression of The Nutty Professor ( Bruce does such a great job of it)but it`s not one that i readily watch it doesn`t have enough Davd and Maddie together time and there doesn`t seem to be enough flirting and the chemistry wasn`t so in your face like other episodes. The one big thing that lifts it for me are the bloopers at the end. SO FUNNY!! So i have given this one a vote of 7 .

I watched this one on dvd last night. I give this one an 8. I really do enjoy this episode. It's funny having the whole office involved and the boys vs girls is fun. I love Bert too! I enjoy M/D scenes in this one. Love the scenes Laura mentions too! I can put this one on alot it seems from the choices of season 5.

I agree, I think I think this one more than some from season 5. I enjoy the M/D scenes too. I also noticed which i really liked the way it had an older ML feel in spots. The opening scene w/ the older (action) music-- felt like the pilot. even the shot of maddie reading the paper looked like the pilot. and at the end maddie wore the purple dress from symphony and sat on the edge of david's desk. oh, it's the little things. pink panther theme was great and of course, the bloopers. i'll give this one an 8 also.

I probably shouldn't include the bloopers when I rate this one, then it'd had to be a 10... But I do really like this episode, especially the end when Maddie really wants David to come back. We all knew he couldn't leave.... Of course the Pink Panther Maddie is funny, and also the case that sorta reflects on our D and M. ;D "Noone has the right to shoot their boss, and if they do it oughta be me" I say 8!

If you've seen some of my other posts then you know that I haven't seen these episodes since their first run on ABC, and that I normally only watch one per week on the DVDs. End of disclaimer.
I don't recall this episode (heck, I can't recall any of the season 5 shows so far except for WWAV....I wonder why?). However, I did find it pretty darn good! The case was interesting, and I had no idea how it was going to turn out. The scene of Maddie breaking into Dave's office was great TV and the banter back and forth wasn't too bad either. The bloopers were from the wrong episode, but were pretty funny nonetheless.
It proved that they could still put out a good show when they wanted to.
I enjoyed it and gave it a good solid 8. Not in the same league as It's a Wonderful Job, but I'd watch it again.....and probably will!

I gave an 8 too. Nice Pink Pather Maddie scene and the chemistry at all M/D scenes.

I give this one a 6 or 7. This episode probably comes closest of all the Season 5 eps to really feeling like the Moonlighting I fell in love with. I love when David is packing his desk and recounting the firing conversation to himself and saying he fired her. His goofy indignation is great. And the bloopers are great too of course. This would have been an average Season 1-3 episode, but it really stands out for this season.
I was really disappointed at the end though that the camera cuts so quickly away from Maddie after she tells David that she is willing to negotiate the terms of their partnership. Cybill was so great at suggestive expressions, and it would have been nice to see a real sexy emphasis on that ending line. But like so much of Season 5, the chemistry comes up just a bit short.

I liked the Nutty professor impression, I liked the case, & I thought cybill's acting was still awful, I don't know what's going on with her this season .. Gave it a 9 just for the HILARIOUS bloopers, I would of given it an 8 if it weren't for them

I don't want to seem all negative in these posts but I knew what I was getting into when I decided to rewatch this season ugh. I can sort of see why this is a more popular one for this season, but I just didn't really care for it. I didn't really like the addition of the whole office being involved, this season is just more and more of Maddie and David not working together. I didn't care for the Dr.gag, love Bruce but this just didn't work for me. Positives: well I liked Maddie making David a partner, about time., would love to have seen the end scene taken a little further. I did like Maddie sneaking into David's office and getting caught. And of course David did the right thing in the end. My favorite moment would be David's reaction when Maddie says Neil whatshisname came on to someone who didn't want him to.
