When I looked at my old VHS sheet regarding this episode, I had written only one word. Lousy. This was the only show I wrote about in a negative context (although a couple of really bad ones I didn't have any comment about at all).
So I went into watching the DVD copy for the first time since its original airing. Well, it wasn't all that good, but it wasn't lousy either.
I suppose I have to echo davnee's comments. The nightmare was just way too weird and I don't think it really revealed anything about Maddie except maybe her choice for dinner that evening was a bit too spicy.
Weekend at Bernie's did a lot more for a corpse in terms of humor, if you are into that sort of thing.
I did like the shower scene and now know that panty hose loosens up when wet. Who would have thought it?
Mid pack for me.

Well I liked this episode and I rated it 8. It looks like musical to me And I love the music from this episode, and all those funny scenes. Maddie's dream has it's place here. She was so afraid of death (she left the office where Harry's body was, she changed the chair, she didn't want to touch his body and so on), so she has to confront with death. And that happened while she was knocked out, when her mind was 'free' to flow anywhere it wanted. I think you understood what I want to say, but my English is not so good and I can't explain it properly...

What I don't get about Maddie's dream is the negativity towards David. He is seen as part of her nightmare, and I don't understand why. Mebbe its a premonition to the last few episodes!?

I think she is afraid that everyone she loves will turn against her, and that her whole world will change (worse), that her loved ones are going to be hurt and she too... And.. I don't know now lol

Wow, this thread is old -- watched this last night for the second time -- I give it an 8 (point off for ripping off the Remington Steele "The Trouble with Harry" ep, which was handled in a more amusing way, as someone else mentioned in the rewatching thread), and a point off for the horrible LONG nightmare scene, which I had to fast-forward through. (The only dream sequence in the series I don't like.) Otherwise, I think it comes closer to classic ML in terms of humor and a few quasi-romantic moments, esp for S5.

I had a lot of fun with this episode. This one (as well as maybe one or two others of this season) almost made it feel like old times. I can't really think of any moment I laughed out loud in S4 (worst season, IMHO), so it was nice to get a few chuckles from S5. I felt the nightmare was creepy, but if they'd made it a lot shorter, I would've been ok with it. I suppose my favorite bits were of them trapped in the graveyard and jumping around in the shower. Overall, I think I'll give it an 8.

I rated this one 6(down from 7 on imdb). The nightmare at the end seems a bit out of place, also the whole "I want you to handle things when I'm gone" thing. That would have been different in season 3 maybe, but now with Maddie and Dave being...well, what are they exactly? Lovers? Pals? It just doesn't seem to fit in properly anymore. The bad guys just conveniently shoot each other off screen and bam, it's all wrapped up? Seems a bit too neat and lazy.

What a weird episode. I remembered this had the nightmare dream and the shower scene that was about all I remembered of this one, now I see why. I did not like the dream part at all. The shower scene was funny and when they were laughing it seemed more like Cybill and Bruce to me than David and Maddie. It was a fun scene and I still wonder how they got away with that one it wasn't sexy though. There really just is no spark here. Even the fight in David's office just really lacked the chemistry of the first 3 seasons. Season 4 did still have the chemistry I think. And why do they seem to be doing cases alone now, his client her client? "We have a case." WE, Maddie and David do cases together, this season is so odd. Oddly the scene I liked the most is when Maddie goes into her office and immediately comes back out for David. That brief scene felt like ML to me. Burts line when their talking about seeing his dead grandfather and having to kiss him was actually kind of funny. David being with Maddie at the hospital and going to X-ray with her was sweet. Overall low score from me here, maybe 4. Lowest scores coming up bracing myself. Maddie just doesn't feel like Maddie anymore and David, it's like they're trying too hard to make him the David of season 1 and 2 which just doesn't work at this point in the series in my opinion. But I guess It could make since for him to revert back to old ways as Maddie has put the breaks on the relationship.
