Thank you for the heads up! If you pre-order the book today, you get a 5 dollar discount. Guess what? I pre-ordered! I was a bit worried about shippings outside of the US, but that's not a problem. Yay!

Great news, guys! I just read on The Moonlighting Book's Facebook page that Cybill Shepherd will be in the book! Apparently, she gave an interview last Saturday. So I guess we've got nearly everybody now; Glenn Caron, Allyce, Cybill, Curtis... so there's no way that Bruce can stay behind now, right? Hahaha!

So I followed The Moonlighting Book's page on Facebook vigorously and the writer, Scott Ryan, announced a few days ago that the book is finished! Sad part about it is that, all though Bruce Willis said yes to being in the book, he and Scott Ryan couldn't get their schedules aligned to do an interview. Therefore, BW will not be in the book. I'm a bit bummed, but hey; we've got Cybill! I'm sure that there are still plenty of great bits to read. Is it June already?!

I believe it's now 51 days until the Moonlighting book is released, which makes me wonder if it will arrive later for people living outside of the States. Mail tends to be a mess nowadays, since everything is (and has to be) ordered online. Mail deliverers are flooded.
I'm excited about it though, and saw Scott's latest interview last night (check Facebook). I was touched by his words on kindness; he could have easily turned it into a book where one says something negative about the other. Instead, he chose integrity and stuck to facts about the show and how it was made. Which I'm actually rather thankful for, if I'm honest. I mean, I have an inkling of what Hollywood is probably like. I do not wish to know all the sordid details (Some do, I know. That's what tabloids are for). It leaves my crush on David Addison perfectly intact ;-)

So over the weekend I read the excerpts from the Moonlighting book. To be honest I was left feeling kind of down. I always knew that there was tension on the set, but it's really upsetting when you learn what people did and how they felt on a more individual, personal level. For example, what was written about Bruce on the set of Lunar Eclipse has forever changed how I see that episode. I mean, I was always disappointed with the series finale, but I blamed it on the producers and writers. Now watching it...knowing that it was meant to be a sweet ending with Maddie & David talking about their real feelings for each other...and knowing that Bruce just wouldn't say those words...ugh. I think it was Boink who pointed out that Maddie does all the talking in that scene. You know what? I never noticed that before. Now that's all I notice. Maddie reaches out for David's hand, Maddie can't imagine not seeing him tomorrow. David says nothing. I agree with Sandra, that's NOT David.
I think I relate very much with Allyce Beasley's sentiments. She is basically saying to Bruce and Cybill - you were so blessed to have this wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity being the stars of this super popular hit TV show - and you let your egos get in the way. You know the scene at the end of LE when Agnes is yelling at Maddie & David, yeah, that was probably such a huge release for Allyce to be able to scream at the two of them.
I always try to look at things from another person's point-of-view. Bruce came into ML as a newcomer and he shot to super-stardom very quickly. Add in his success as a movie star with Die Hard, and I can only imagine how much his life changed in just 5 years. I believe he liked Glenn very much and he was probably very unhappy with Cybill when Glenn was forced to leave his own show. I think Bruce didn't care about ML after Glenn left and it shows in the final product.
Cybill came into ML as a movie star, but one who had a lot of ups and downs in her long career. I wish she had appreciated ML more when she was filming it. I think looking back on it in hindsight, she probably wishes things had gone differently. When I listened to her DVD commentary for the episode MHGM, she seems to get emotional towards the end. ML was definitely the highpoint in her career. She obviously knows that now, and I think that's why she's willing to talk about it.
It's strange, I am definitely aware that both Cybill and Bruce have those big movie star egos, but for some reason, it bothers me more with Bruce. Maybe it's because I'm a woman and I tend to think that strong, confident men can get away with things that strong, confident women get called a b---- for. I get the impression that Glenn was more willing to listen to Bruce's ideas than he was willing to listen to Cybill's. I would bet money on it that if it was Bruce who didn't want Maddie to marry Walter -- Maddie would not have married Walter. Just sayin'.

Oh Marlena... You said you were worried about me (being a David's girl and all) and how I would feel about that excerpt that you posted of the book. But now, it's you that I'm slightly worried about ;-) It sounds like Bruce really disappointed you. I'm sorry to hear that. As for myself, I don't have any expectations when it comes to reading the book in June (though, I am excited. Don't get me wrong!). Curtis Armstrong already revealed a bit about our leading lady and man in his book. That, combined with dozens of articles that talked about petty behavior on set that would put Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj to shame, made me realize that those two simply need to remain David and Maddie in my mind. Nothing that Bruce Willis does in real life could ever make me less of a David's girl. I can seperate those two perfectly. Therefore, I'm still going to gush ;-) As for the book itself, can somebody tell Scott Ryan that my birthday is June 3rd and having the book in my possession by then would be the perfect birthday present?

Sandra, I can always count on you to talk me off the cliff. You're right, Bruce is not David. Cybill is not Maddie. I know, gotta keep them separate at all times.

Did anyone get the book yet? If you do/did, post your picture of it here. We can all gush about it.
I'm still hoping that it will be in time for my birthday in two days *fingers crossed*

I ran to the post office this morning, but no book. I have a tracking number I got from the USPS. It must be for the book because I'm not expecting anything else. Says it won't arrive 'til Thursday, the 3rd. I was under the impression that by ordering the book direct, we were actually going to get it a few days before June 1st. Idk, I thought I read that somewhere. Didn't happen, though. Keeping my fingers crossed that you have it on your birthday, Sandra.

Anyone know how to find out what the tracking number is? I thought I'd get an email when it was shipped.

I got two emails from FMP Publishing on May 22nd. One was directly from Scott Ryan...he had a question about my mailing address. The other said that my order was complete, but no tracking # was provided. The way I got the tracking number is that I get emails every day from the USPS with photos of each day's mail and it tells me if any packages will be arriving in the upcoming days, and it provides the tracking info.
I actually ordered two copies. One to keep at home, behind glass, in mint pristine condition. The other copy is to be read, re-read, ogled, drooled over, and basically carried around with me everywhere I go so I can show people and try to get them to watch Moonlighting, too.
