darkbeer, I have one thing to say: "This is ridiculous! I'm miserable!" Seems obvious what scene is at or near the top of YOUR list. Welcome, new newbie! Thanks for the welcome, guys...and yes, The Big Bang is certainly at or near the top of my list. I remember when it aired...I thought I was going to spontaneously combust right there in my Tuesday night babysitting job's living room! If I had known then how much their 'dark beer' (etc.) type differences were foreshadowing my own quirky, passionate, now 20 year old and still as hot as ever marriage, I wonder what I would have thought? PS - I'm sad I missed the 'favourite scenes' thread for the stats...I'm currently rewatching in order partway through S2. (again). Maybe I'll make a list just for fun...

I think that much of Maroon 5's discography is well-suited to our couple. Their songs are raw with emotion, passion, and sexuality.
"Sweetest Goodbye"
Where you are seems to be As far as an eternity Outstretched arms open hearts And if it never ends then when do we start? I'll never leave you behind Or treat you unkind I know you understand And with a tear in my eye Give me the sweetest goodbye That I ever did receive
Pushing forward and arching back Bring me closer to heart attack Say goodbye and just fly away When you come back I have some things to say
How does it feel to know you never have to be alone When you get home? There must be someplace here that only you and I could go So I can show you how I...
Dream away everyday Try so hard to disregard The rhythm of the rain that drops And coincides with the beating of my heart
I'll never leave you behind Or treat you unkind I know you understand And with a tear in my eye Give me the sweetest goodbye That I ever, ever, ever did receive
Pushing forward and arching back Bring me closer to heart attack Say goodbye and just fly away When you come back I have some things to say
[x2] How does it feel to know you never have to be alone When you get home? There must be someplace here that only you and I could go So I can show you how I feel

Ok, I just finished watching "The Boat That Rocked"; not ML-related, EXCEPT for the soundtrack, which is from the 60's, you know, when the last good music was written...a little more than 20 years ago now, but anyways, just listen to this song...is it already in an episode, or does it just fit so perfectly I think it was? www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iKtytBwtKkIt kind of gives me that socked in the gut feeling that only David and Maddie can give each other.

This song by Sade--Queen of Sultry, Sensual, and Seductive--stirred my imagination of D & M's first night and month together. This could have been the soundtrack for all we didn't get to see, IMHO (Of course, you need the music to complete the effect).
No Ordinary Love
I gave you all the love I got I gave you more than I could give I gave you love I gave you all that I have inside And you took my love You took my love Didn't I tell you What I believe Did somebody say that A love like that won't last Didn't I give you All that I've got to give baby
I gave you all the love I got I gave you more than I could give I gave you love I gave you all that I have inside And you took my love You took my love
I keep crying I keep trying for you There's nothing like you and I baby
This is no ordinary love No ordinary Love This is no ordinary love No ordinary Love
When you came my way You brightened every day With your sweet smile I keep crying I keep trying for you There's nothing like you and I baby
Keep trying for you Keep crying for you Keep flying for you Keep flying I'm falling
I'm falling

I stumbled over a cd of a british band I haven't heard in maybe 20 years and I had forgotten how great some of the songs were! Most of you haven't probably heard of them - band was called Fairground Attraction and had a few quite big successes in the late 80s in Europe; I think the song "Perfect" I'm mentioning here was even billboarded in the U.S. However, take a look at the lyrics:
Perfect
I don't want half-hearted love affairs I need someone who really cares Life is too short to play silly games I promised myself I won't do that again
Chorus: It's got to be - perfect It's got to be - worth it Too many people take second best But I won't take anything less It's got to be - perfect
Young hearts are foolish, they make such mistakes They're much too eager to give their love away I have been foolish too many times Now I'm determined, I'm gonna get it right
Chorus
And here's another one from the same band that is so beautiful and makes me think that both of them should have more listened to their hearts:
A smile in a whisper
Sky of ink and diamond stars empty streets with just occasional cars here we lie in a lullaby in the stillness of our room.
Words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does.
All of the letters and all of the words in all of the books all over the world they're nothing but sounds and vowels and nouns for talking to strangers, that's all they're worth.
Words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does.
Orchestra of tiny harps it's like pepper sprinkled on our hearts we're threading a needle with boxing gloves when we try and talk about love.
Words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does words are unable to speak of love like a smile in a whisper does.

Heard this on Sirius the other night. Bob Dylan wrote it, but it's been covered by many artists young and old, including Billy Joel. However, recently it's been recorded by Adele and Neil Diamond. All are really nice recordings. I think this fits David pretty well. "Make You Feel My Love" When the rain is blowin' in your face And the whole world is on your case I could offer you a warm embrace To make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear And there is no one there to dry your tears I could hold you for a million years To make you feel my love. I know you haven't made your mind up yet But I would never do you wrong I've known it from the moment that we met No doubt in my mind where you belong. I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue I'd go crawlin' down the avenue No, there's nothin' that I wouldn't do To make you feel my love. Though storms are raging on the rollin' sea And on the highway of regrets Though winds of change are throwing wild and free You ain't seen nothin' like me yet. I could make you happy, make your dreams come true Nothing that I wouldn't do Go to the ends of the Earth for you To make you feel my love. Go listen to a few! Ok, yes I'm quoting myself, but they used this in the season finale of Bones. Sung by Adele. So perfect and yet, it still reminds me of ML

Amazing song that could have definitely been a D&M song. But after Thursday night, think I have turned it over to Bones and Booth! ;D

Fairground Attraction figured heavily in the soundtrack for my life post-ML! "Perfect" really does express Maddie's heart, doesn't it? What a great reminder - I'm going to have to dig out that CD again and play it for my girls...
