If you want to see an absolutely riveting performance by Frank Langella go see Frost/Nixon. There were times that I forgot it was a re-enactment of the interviews he seemed that real!!
Rose, Uncle Frank was terrific!!

Oh i'm so glad you enjoyed it! MY Mom said the same thing tonight at dinner, that both the main actors are so lifelike, you do think you are watching the real thing. I hope it comes out soon on DVD. quote author=beesnbears board=other thread=714 post=16025 time=1232932464]If you want to see an absolutely riveting performance by Frank Langella go see Frost/Nixon. Saw a movie the other day. Always like watching previews. Guess who has a movie coming out?? Annie!!! Virginia Madsen, of course. She looked great!!
The movie looked like one of those freaky scary kinds...... She plays a mother with her kids in a haunted house or something. The trailer was scary enough for me!! LOL!!

I recently rented "Hard Luck" because Mz. Shepherd is in it...boy, it was crazy...she was a serial killer in this...strange but exciting to see her in such a role. Also, "Married to It", she cussed so much in it, I cracked up...I think it was a great movie and she blended her character in so well.

OK, no ML connection whatsoever...but I simply must give a "shout out" to Julie & Julia, with Amy Adams and Meryl Streep. Charming and delightful...and Meryl absolutely NAILS Julia Child--astonishing! Plus, it makes me ache to go to France... oh, and the food looks pretty darn good, too.

Just went to Blockbuster and asked if they had "His Girl Friday", "Bringing Up Baby", or "Twentieth Century". I wanted to watch for that same snappy bantering and overlapping dialogue that Moonlighting was famous for. Blockbuster didn't have ANY of those films. Came home and looked up "His Girl Friday" on YouTube. Watched the first half-hour: sure enough, Cary and Rosalind = Bruce and Cybill, 40 years earlier. Within minutes I was laughing my tookus off.

I've just watched "Married to it" with our beautiful lady It is always thrilling for me to watch Cybill playing someone absolutely different from Maddie Hayes! And you think all the time :"Wow what a great actress she is!" The movie is very cute and relaxing, and even funny Cybill is amazing!

Anyone else see Blue Valentine yet? I couldn't help but think that the couple could be David and Maddie if they'd ended up together and everything went to hell. It is such a powerful depiction of a relationship, and the characters are so well drawn, it's gut-wrenching. I highly recommend it.

I haven't, but I am dying to. It's not playing anywhere near me. I haven't seen a movie that has reminded me of Maddie & David for years. I have a feeling Blue Valentine ends badly....
