7. There is no question that can do justice to David's declaration on the plane. Just tell us what you absolutely love about it.
One of the best pieces of acting ever. I have said many times that season 4 was Bruce's season, and the plane scene is the cherry on top of the cake. First he has a way of pulling into himself when he needs to portray misery...it's a body language thing, and it makes him look lonely and alone, no matter where he is.
I love the juxtaposition of the frustration and the rage...he wants to be angry...he wants to tell this man and his daughter to go straight to hell, but yet he knows he can't. A force greater than himself drives him to want to be with this woman.
I love the unshed tears in his eyes. And I have never heard a more eloquent declaration of love.
It still makes me cry every single time I see it.

One more reference to prison - David mentions it to the accountant when explaining how he misplaced a check. It's like the boy who cried wolf where David is concerned. LOVe this! ROFL! yes like oh i was in prison,or the dog ate my homework, involved in a wreck of the free way ,ahhh thats our David!

Gray----love your avatar!! Me too! I look so forward to these avatar changes. I love the avatars. But I am so technologically challenged I have neither an avatar or anything else creative. Perhaps someday, somebody can help me with one?

I think Curtis Armstrong did not get the recognition he deserved. He was wonderful!!
Favorite scene with him is when he is leaning on Maddie's desk and slips on a stack of papers and lands down around Maddie's feet!! OMG that is so funny. And Cybill plays it perfect too!
Curtis and Allyce probably saved the show during S4. Bruce was great and what little we saw of Cybill was great (even though she was looking tired and pregnant!) but what would they have done without Agnes and Bert!!

And he gets this look......I call it heavy-lidded? (eyelids) in the second plane scene. How does he do that? He is just amazing!

. David says, "When it comes to this whole mess, we've got a dead heat between things I've done wrong and things I've done right." I think at the same time, throughout the whole series, we have a huge contrast between what we as the audience get to see of David, and what is actually revealed to Maddie. What do you think would have been different had Maddie been a fly on the wall in that plane?
The crux of the matter when we enter any Moonlighting discussion is that we always have more info than our main characters. I think this usually affects people's opinions of Maddie more. We have gotten to see many more of the endearing things David has done than Maddie ever has. So while sometimes she sees him as the irresponsible devil, we see him as the heart of gold angel with a bit of a pointy tail.
There are many examples throughout the episodes that point to this, but in just limiting this to the airplane scene........Maddie loves him. She needs to trust him more. Her lack of faith in herself, and her fear of commitment is as much at fault here as any of David's character traits, real or imagined.
I cannot imagine any woman witnessing a declaration such as David's and being able to do anything but jump him!!!

2. I just love the popcorn image...the comparison to the popcorn and her belly are actually in the stage directions. Awww Diane, you're haunting me with the script teasers. I'm a nervous wreck over here... I am not trying to be a tease with the script stuff.......but gee whiz, it's taken me over 4 hours just to read everything and answer the questions. I will try and get them in tonight...although it is getting to be beddy bye time here on the right coast.

And i sure would have jumped David too after hearing all that! So now i ask why didnt Mr HAyes tell Maddie this, i mean they did discuss this at the end of Davids plane ride on what Mr Hayes would say to Maddie right? WHY oh WHY wasnt this said to Maddie in a great scene back at the Hayes house, oh i know why, they needed Maddie to marry Walter, UGH!!!!!!!

Hey Rose I know what you mean about Mr. Hayes telling Maddie about his conversation with David. But, what do you think Maddie would have done? We would be able to hear and see Mt. Saint MAddie all the way in Texas!!! LOL!
Maybe Mr. Hayes knows her just like DAvid knows her!!

It is lovely to share this with everybody.....it's just that I have spent most of my waking hours on Moonlighting today -- and you know how much else gets done when you are on an ML jag! Thanks for understanding!
